Job Purpose
The multifunctional equipment operator is primarily responsible for processing logs using a processor, following felling operations carried out by a sawhead harvester. Depending on operational needs, they may also be required to operate various forestry equipment (e.g., sawhead harvester, 19 to 25-ton transporter, etc.) to perform logging, skidding, and wood transport tasks. The operator is also responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting machinery to ensure proper functioning and operational safety.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Operate forestry machinery in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
- Perform logging, processing, skidding, and wood transport.
- Conduct regular maintenance on the machine.
- Detect breakdowns and leaks.
- Repair minor mechanical issues.
- Clean the machinery.
What do I need to be successful?
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in logging and wood processing OR
4 years of relevant experience (high school diploma is an asset) - Pass a pre-employment medical exam to confirm fitness for the role.
