Job Description:
Job Purpose
To operate a simple piece of equipment with repetitive functions.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain sawline operations; including saw hog, blow detector, metal detector, and discharge grading bins and transfer chains up to paint booth
- Observe material and down grade defects in product
- Communicate defects to Quality Technician, Press Operator, and Supervisor
- Complete sawline downgrade report at the end of each shift
- Clean and Maintain sawline area
- Communicate downtime events to Maintenance and electrical personnel
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
What do I need to be successful?
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of simple equipment operation.
- Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
- Time management skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
Education:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience:
- 3 – 6 months experience in equipment operation preferred.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Work Environment
Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and other inclement conditions.
