Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To perform predictive and preventative electrical maintenance functions as a Journey Maintenance Electrician under minimal supervision.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive oral and / or written instructions from supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problem, make decisions necessary to repair and restore equipment to design specifications.
  • Perform electrical test using megger, OHM meter, and other test equipment.
  • Work from prints and/or computer logic.
  • Establish and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance procedures and SOP’s as needed.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

What do I need to be successful?

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of electrical functions.
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of basic PLC.
  • Time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring and circuit diagrams.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations

 

Education

  • Vocational degree and basic PLC training desired with 2 years work experience in electrical troubleshooting, or motor and controls or industrial electrical controls. 
  • OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of the job.
  • Must have telephone and dependable way to work.
  • Must furnish you own hand tools.

Work Environment

  • OSB manufacturing facility.
