Job Purpose

Lead a multi-disciplined, highly coordinated team of Subject Matter Experts to improve the efficiency, consistency, and performance of operations across the network. This role drives operational excellence through a strong controls mindset, optimized equipment and technology deployment, increased production speed, cost reduction initiatives, raw material optimization, and close partnership with Product Development to ensure scalable, reliable production of new products.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Partner with Operations and cross-functional leaders to develop, maintain, and continuously refine a prioritized portfolio of improvement and technology projects aligned to business objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of Subject Matter Experts, ensuring work activities are tightly aligned to the approved project roadmap and evolving operational needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pilot new technologies including automation, AI-enabled solutions, and advanced controls for application within operations.
  • Establish and leverage best practices across all applicable facilities, ensuring effective knowledge transfer, network-wide adoption, and sustained performance gains.
  • Determine optimal methods for deploying new technologies and process improvements, driving initiatives through full-scale implementation and operational handoff.
  • Participate in the New Product Development (NPD) process to assess operational readiness, define required process or equipment changes, and lead implementation to support successful production launches.
  • Improved production speed, throughout, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Reduced variation in key process variables and critical product properties. Increased A-grade output, with fewer quality upsets and reduced customer claims.
  • Improved readiness and stability during new product trials and launches, with fewer disruptions and faster ramp-up to target performance
  • Strong leadership experience managing technical or operations-focused teams. Proven track record in operational excellence, process control, or manufacturing optimization.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing new technologies, automation, or digital solutions in a production environment.
  • Ability to influence across functions and drive change in complex, multi-site operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

What do I need to be successful?

Experience:
  • 10+ years Minimum 10 years’ experience in one or more of the following fields: Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or Process Improvement. required or
  • any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Experience leading teams with highly diverse and specialized technical backgrounds desired.
  • Forest Products Industry experience strongly desirable.


Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Forest Products, Engineering, Wood Science or related technical field required
  • Advanced degree in Forest Products, Engineering, Wood Science or related technical field preferred
  • Education in controls, systems, and process improvement desirable

Work Environment

  • Environment includes a combination of office and manufacturing environments.
  • Moderate to heavy travel required.
  • Requires a flexible schedule.
