Job Purpose

To manage various facets of forestry operations and forest management. May include forest development, silviculture, harvesting, road construction, planning and wood sales/purchases

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to our safety culture by actively participating in the Safety Program and performing all duties in accordance with safety rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Managing all activities associated with harvesting, including supervision of logging, road construction, maintenance and deactivation, completion of waste assessments, hazard abatement, and log quality.
  • Ensure all harvesting and road construction activities are conducted in compliance with applicable Occupational Health and Safety Requirements, forestry legislation, LP’s Environmental Policy, Sustainable Forestry Principles, and Best Forestry Management Practices.
  • Tracking, reporting and root cause analysis of safety, quality, cost, and delivery results.
  • Assisting with harvest and road construction budgets and managing costs within your specific responsibilities.
  • Initiating and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, First Nations, government agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with implementation of Safety Program for employees and contractors. 
  • Provide support on the implementation and maintenance of the Dawson Creek forest certification program, as required.
  • Participating in other team projects as requested.

What do I need to be successful?

  • University Degree or Technical Diploma with a minimum of 5 years forestry experience.
  • Preference may be given to a Registered Professional Forester with the ABCFP.
  • Excellent leadership, communication & project management skills, with the ability to work within a team environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable B.C. legislation and policies.
  • Proficient in using a computer & related software and forestry applications including GIS.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license


  • Degree, diploma, or extensive operational background in the related field of work.
