Job Purpose

To provide complex support within an assigned area by providing accurate, consistent, and timely accounting information and support to facility or Corporate management. May provide day-to-day work direction or supervision to assigned employees.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Prepare month-end accrual entries based on information gathered from assigned functional area
  • Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year end operating reports with mill leadership teams
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts; research discrepancies and make appropriate adjusting entries
  • Review relevant cost centers for accuracy during month-end closing
  • Support month-end inventory process including review and approval of inventory adjustments
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and compare against established budgeted costs, proposing bill of material and overhead rate updates when necessary
  • Assist with preparation of functional area annual budget
  • Participate on special project teams as needed
  • May direct the day-to-day work flow and assignments or supervise departmental staff; act as a resource to staff on complex questions or issues
  • May perform Sarbanes Oxley compliance testing as needed
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as necessary

What do I need to be successful?

  • 2 to 3 years’ professional accounting experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of plant manufacturing environment and processes
  • Good analytical skills and math skills
  • Good organizational and problem solving skills
  • Good written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet regular deadlines
  • Ability to operate a computer and supporting software packages, including the ability to satisfactorily perform all SAP tasks associated with this role

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Work Environment

  • This position will be remote, working in a home office environment
