Job Purpose

Bolster downstream market demand and brand name recognition for LP products by fielding 1-800 calls, handling technical questions, and training local architects, engineers, builders and contractors on proper installation methods. Additionally, in this role you will support the  Field Technical Sales Team and inside Sales Teams with prompt answers to customer questions. This position works closely with the Field Technical Sales Managers, Inside Sales Team, and Marketing. This position is reported through LP Technical Team.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain hands-on knowledge of LP products for residential and light-commercial structures
  • Conduct prompt technical review of all Sales and Marketing collateral in concert with the Legal team
  • Interface with end users of LP products on Technical Customer Service Line (TCSL) answering technical questions
  • Develop best known application practices for siding products
  • Maintain application instructions for LP products
  • Interface with the Field Technical Sales Managers and Inside Sales to deliver specifications and FAQs supporting the proper use of LP products
  • Maintain the Technical Team technical library, including all presentations, application instructions, drawings, manuals, and code report records
  • May collaborate with national, local and regional code authorities on approvals impacting LP products
  • May participate in the development/updating of new/current training materials for customers, builders, contractors, distributors, dealers, specifiers and third-party officials
  • May train LP team members to a level of competence and confidence in the proper installation of LP products
  • Direct issues reported through corporate channels to the respective Field Technical Sales Manager and collaborate on solutions
  • Participate in Technical Calls and Meetings with existing and potential Social Media Influencers

What do I need to be successful?

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experiences; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
  • Ability to read construction plans or CAD details
  • Strong understanding of construction process and equipment
  • Overnight travel required, minimal
  • 80% of time working in an office setting, sitting at a desk, or computer terminal
  • 20% of time working in a manufacturing environment, or on a job site
  • Knowledge of LP products and applications
  • Knowledge of builders’ and contractors’ business and their interests
  • Strong Reporting Skills
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and sales skills, including active listening and overcoming objections
  • Ability to operate effectively within multi-discipline teams
  • Valid driver’s license and solid driving record
  • Previous Customer Service experience
  • Adept in learning or strong understanding of LP manufacturing and LP SmartSide ExpertFinish processes and testing
  • Multilingual: French or Spanish speaking preferred

Education

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Building Science, Basic Sciences, Architecture, Construction Management or Construction-related fields
  • Any equivalent experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position

Work Environment

  • This position will be remote, working in a home office environment
