Job Purpose

The HR Generalist plays a key role in the daily management of human resources activities, responding to a wide range of organizational needs. This versatile position ensures the implementation, administration, and monitoring of HR policies, procedures, and programs at both the plant and corporate levels of Louisiana-Pacific.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to daily HR operations, including the administrative management of employee records.
  • Provide backup for the administrative assistant, including payroll processing.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment process and onboarding of new employees.
  • Provide HR advisory services to employees and managers, offering guidance and support.
  • Ensure the application and compliance of HR policies and procedures.
  • Act as a proactive partner in health and safety, in collaboration with the Health, Safety and Environment department.
  • Ensure effective internal communication related to HR matters.
  • Perform any other related tasks as required.
  • Adjust responsibilities in line with evolving organizational needs.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Solid understanding of provincial and federal labor legislation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage and motivate teams.
  • Ability to coordinate various activities in a structured manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated rigor in task execution and adherence to processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong proficiency in French (70% of work is conducted in French).
  • Good proficiency in English (30% of work is conducted in English).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources, or a college diploma in Administration with relevant HR experience, or any other combination deemed appropriate.
