Job Description: 

Job Purpose

To assist in the everyday pre-finishing duties, which include but are not limited to assist in paint or automation/expedition of product through paint line, assist in packaging functions of paint line, assist with safe assembly of corner products, and operate manual spray booth as assigned, under daily direction.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Adequately understand and operate the equipment and functions of an assigned area on one line.
  • Check supplies to ensure smooth operation, refill if stock is low.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance & make minor adjustments to maintain equipment in good operating order.
  • Provide general relief in support of line positions during breaks assigned.
  • Perform general clean-up and utility duties as assigned, including sweeping floors, picking up trash, painting, cleaning equipment, etc.
  • Operate mobile equipment and power industrial vehicles, as assigned.
  • Operate hand-held tools and equipment including heat gun, manual paint gun, stapler, and banding equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections & make hourly checks regarding quality of board condition and package appearance to ensure all products meet quality standards.
  • Other duties or responsibilities not listed above may be assigned as necessary.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Understand and execute proper radio etiquette while communicating with appropriate parties.

 

What do I need to be successful?

  • Knowledge of equipment safety features, operating features, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of position, duties, and functions captured in standard operating procedure documents.
  • The ability to properly assemble corners and manually paint units while following safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a Team Environment.
  • Time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Knowledge of general plant operation functions and housekeeping requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

  • Plant environment
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and fluctuations in temperature.
