Job Purpose

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting Analyst, you'll work under general supervision in our Business Intelligence organization as a member of one of the IT teams responsible for developing new BI services offerings and content creation for LP. You would be responsible for following defined specifications, developing information delivery objects, and testing the BI reporting projects assigned. You'll collaborate with our business partners and the BI team to develop detailed designs, functional and technical specifications for business solutions and work with the team to develop standard and custom BI reporting solutions of low to moderate complexity. You'll gain exposure to corporate wide scenarios that require good communication skills and the ability to effectively multi-task. In addition, you'll be involved in training business users using an integrated SAP BI solution leveraging all of LP’s business applications.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work directly with internal customers to develop more efficient processes and ways to use Business Intelligence applications
  • Assist and provide information to users, IT staff, and general management on issues such as planning, scheduling, and using reporting system production capabilities
  • Maintain system and application documentation for assigned systems and/or projects
  • Develop and provide training to end-users on BI applications software
  • Run queries and reports to extract data for various analysis purposes
  • Work with IT staff and internal customers to identify and correct problem conditions, including QA testing
  • Troubleshoot Business Intelligence system production issues and develop effective solutions
  • Develop and document test plans, new procedures, training, and communications for end-users
  • Assist in the design, development, testing, implementation and troubleshooting of BI reporting applications
  • Evaluate and assist in the development of detailed requirements for projects
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with all audit and SOX initiatives
  • May perform daily maintenance of user security requests to the application
  • Occasional travel

What do I need to be successful?

  • 2 to 3 years demonstrated business analyst experience
  • Or any combination of education, experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
  • Experience and working knowledge of major components of SAP Business Objects platform to include BI Launch Pad and Central Management Console
  • Experience in the development of SAP BOBJ Web Intelligence reports
  • Experience in the development of SAP BOBJ Dashboards
  • Knowledge of SAP Explorer a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Warehouse (BW) standard data sources
  • Working knowledge of current systems analysis and design methods
  • Working knowledge of the applications supported
  • Working knowledge of the business areas supported
  • Strong customer-service skills
  • Effective PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, NetMeeting, Visio, MS Project etc.)
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
